Meeting the Needs of Struggling Students
Effective reading intervention addresses the needs of all students who struggle. Currently, the RTI (Response to Intervention) framework is often used to structure intervention services and monitor response. With RTI,schools screen to identify at-risk students, implement research-based instruction, monitor progress, and adjust the instructional intensity appropriately. Conscientious use of RTI enables educators to target instructional interventions to specific areas of need as soon as those needs become clear. Mondo Intervention and Bookshop Phonics Intervention provide research-based tools and systems that support the RTI model.
