Critical Skills for Reading Success
The ability to decode is a critical element in reading success. Students who struggle with decoding and reading fluency are often left behind in whole class phonics instruction. In addition, they may be unable to practice and apply new phonics skills and strategies to increasingly difficult text. To meet the needs of diverse students, phonics programs must offer explicit, sequential, comprehensive instruction with ample opportunities to apply and practice phonics knowledge. Mondo’s Bookshop Phonics program provides direct teaching of letter-sound relationships in a clear, research-based sequence. Also available in Spanish.
