Now I Get It!
K-5 Comprehension Strategies for Fiction and Nonfiction
is designed for both
whole-class and small-group instruction in Kindergarten through Grade
5. Using the shared reading instructional strategy, teachers share,
demonstrate, and practice with students the specific comprehension
skills and strategies that are required to comprehend text in a variety
of genres and text types.

comprehension strategies:

> Visualizing
> Making Inferences
> Recognizing text structures
> Determining importance

comprehension posters are
provided in 3 formats:

Each Grade-Level program includes:
- 16 Full-Color Text-Posters: 22"x28" (8 Fiction & 8 Nonfiction)
- 16 Black & White Write-On/Wipe-Off Graphic Organizer/Comprehension Posters: 22"x28" (one for each text poster)
- 32 Transparencies: 8 1/2"x11" (one for each text and comprehension poster)

Text Posters
The Now I Get It! text posters provide well written, short text passages
with compelling illustrations, photographs, and diagrams.
Text Posters in each Now I Get It! grade-level program are:
> Divided evenly between fiction and nonfiction.
> Based on grade-appropriate topics that match national curriculum standards in science, social studies and language arts.
Comprehension Posters/Graphic Organizers
Comprehension Posters/Graphic Organizers provide additional
opportunities to reread while deepening the understanding of the text
and the application of a specific comprehension strategy.
Transparencies
32 overhead transparencies (8 1/2" x 11"), one of each poster and graphic organizer,
are also included for classroom use.
